Observational Study: The Impact of Milk and Bloom Cookies on Breastfeeding Milk Supply

on May 14 2025
Background Breastfeeding mothers often seek natural ways to support their milk supply. Milk and Bloom was founded with this goal in mind — to provide freshly baked lactation cookies made with real ingredients known to support lactation. This small observational study investigates the observed impact on milk supply among a group of mothers who regularly consumed our cookies. Our Objectives To evaluate self-reported changes in milk supply after consuming Milk and Bloom cookies. To understand the timeline, dosage, and experiences of mothers using our products. To assess customer satisfaction and likelihood of recommending the product. Methodology Participants: 20 breastfeeding mothers (aged 22–39) who purchased and consumed Milk and Bloom cookies. Design: Voluntary feedback via post-purchase surveys and direct interviews, collected over a 2-week period. Products Consumed: A variety of Milk and Bloom’s freshly baked lactation cookies, including best-selling flavours such as classic choc chip, Biscoff-filled, almond croissant, dates and walnut, and others. Frequency: Average intake of 1–2 cookies per day. Metrics: Self-reported changes in milk supply, breastfeeding experience, time to notice impact, and satisfaction level. Key Findings 📊 Milk Supply Impact 100% of participants reported an increase in milk supply. 50% experienced a significant increase 44% reported a moderate increase 6% observed a slight increase ⏱️ Time to Effect Most mothers saw results quickly: 88% noticed a boost within 2–3 days 6% reported results within 24 hours 6% experienced effects within a week 🏆 Brand Comparison 87.5% of participants had previously tried other lactation cookie brands. 100% of those stated that Milk and Bloom was “much better.” The remaining 12.5% were first-time lactation cookie users — all reported a positive experience. What Mothers Valued Most When asked which features stood out, these were the top attributes: 🍪 Taste – 81% 💪 Effectiveness – 63% 🌱 Natural ingredients – 56% 🤤 Texture – 50% 🏃 Convenience (no prep) – 50% Testimonials “I noticed an increase within two days. I’ve tried other brands and these are by far the best.” – Anna “They seriously helped me pump a full bottle for the night. Hubby can do that feed, and I can finally sleep.” – Georgia “Fresh, convenient, and taste amazing. I honestly don’t know how you could make them better.” – Jess “Can we please get a white choc & macadamia flavour?” – Mel “I love when they’re perfectly gooey and soft in the middle.” – Alexus Conclusion The findings from this observational study indicate that Milk and Bloom cookies are: ✅ Effective – 100% of respondents saw a milk supply boost ⏱️ Fast-acting – 9 in 10 saw results within 3 days 😋 Highly rated – Taste, texture, and ingredients were standout features 🥇 Preferred – Universally rated higher than competing brands These insights reinforce Milk and Bloom’s commitment to delivering real results through fresh, thoughtfully formulated lactation support. Opportunities for Further Research To strengthen our understanding and validate these findings, we are exploring: Larger, more diverse sample sizes – to better reflect all breastfeeding journeys. Controlled product trials – comparing Milk and Bloom against placebo or other lactation snacks. Quantitative milk tracking – using pumping volume logs or wearable tech for objective data. Longer observation periods – to assess sustained outcomes over time. Impact by cookie flavour or ingredient – e.g., whether Biscoff-filled performs differently from dates & walnut.
